Foodland Ontario is a consumer based program established by the government of Ontario to promote and support the consumption of fresh produce and processed agricultural foods through the certification of locally produced products that are sold at grocery stores across the province. Grown Right Here is an initiative within Winsor-Essex region to encourage, promote and grow our region’s culinary sector. Vist their website for a list of farmer markets in the area.

Just Food is a grassroots community-based not-for-profit organization connecting consumers with local grown food within Ottawa and surrounding area.  Visit their “Ottawa Buy Local, Grow Local Food Guide” for an interactive look at where local food is grown and sold in the region. Search their interactive map to locate producers, farmer markets, community gardens and businesses (restaurants & retailers) that support local farms. The database can also be searched by type of farm or farm practices (i.e. certified organic).

Ontario Farm Fresh is a not-for-profit organization that promotes local farms, agri-tourism destinations, pick-your-own, and community supported agriculture in the province of Ontario.  A “Find a Farm” database that can be searched by distance or by food/product category can be found on their website .

Ontariofresh.ca is an online network and marketing service lead by the Ontario government to help businesses buy and sell more local food. On their website you will find a list of producers that can be searched by food type or category.

100KM Foods is a food distributor serving restaurants, retailers and food businesses in Toronto and the GTA. Their mission is to establish a viable, dynamic and sustainable local food economy whereby chefs have access to the freshest and best products that Ontario has to offer.

Nourish – The Nourish Project in Peterborough uses a collaborative approach to grow access to healthy, locally-produced food, food literacy, and food advocacy.
