Lowen's Skincare is a Calgary-based boutique cosmetic/skincare company. Our focus is product formulation centered on the needs and desires of the environmentally conscious consumer. How We Got Started: When our eldest daughter came into our lives, I honestly was terrified of children. Luckily my wife took the lead and I followed along (although felt pretty unhelpful). When Lowen developed a terrible diaper rash, I saw this as an opportunity to help and, using my background as a Pharmacist, formulated a natural, evidence informed diaper balm using locally sourced ingredients. Our 1st product, Lowen's Butter Balm, proved to be incredibly effective and others that tried it told us how well it worked on other conditions like eczema, psoriasis, severe dry skin, etc. From that initial success, we expanded into other balms, lotions, cleansers and scrubs, following on the same principles of using locally sourced, unrefined, unconventional ingredients. All products have been formulated by me from the ground up, are verified as safe from the Environmental Working Group, and are manufactured in Calgary. We are passionate about what we do and that included our partners where we source our ingredients from. The closer to home, the less refined, the better in our opinion!
