Chickadee Farm Herbs has partnered with the Earth Group to provide them with herbal tea at a lower cost, to support the World Food Program. Your can find their on line store at earthgroup.org
Other way Chickadee Farm Herbs supports social causes is by annually donating to the Edmonton Food bank and growing 5000 lb or more of potatoes for the Marian Center in Edmonton (please see our social media feed for our awesome potato dig days.)
We also provide many young travelers with an opportunity to stay and learn/work on our farm thru the WWOOF program. We are teaching these young people about working with natural systems to grow and eat food from the land.
We are Certified Organic by OPAM, and are constantly striving to reduce our impact on the land and environment around us. We always incorporated our composted manure from our flock of sheep and recently we have started using green manures to increase the fertility of our land.
Our farm has always been solar powered, initially it was off grid and in 2017 we added a solar array and tied into the power grid to support our neighbors power use and reduce the amount of fuel burnt to maintain batteries.
Our packaging is 100% recyclable with a separate liner and cardboard box to make the job easier.
