Rub it in Why Don’t Ya! Natural Lotion was formulated specifically to be safe for Lowen’s use (i.e. safe for kiddies as well as adults). Rub it in Why Don’t Ya! is all natural, paraben free, hypoallergenic, non-comodogenic (meaning it won’t make you look like your 16 year old pizza delivery boy), and does not have any added fragrances. All this combined with minimal preservation makes Rub it in the cleanest, safest and most effective lotion on the market (we are aware of our bias).
Our unique formula utilizes locally produced beeswax (Alberta sourced) non-GMO Canola oil (High River, AB) and Camelina (Saskatoon, SK) oil, making Rub it in Why Don’t Ya! the most “local” natural lotion you’ll be lucky enough to to find! We combine the above with certified fair trade, fair trade coconut oil as the cherry on top as the news is out about the benefits of virgin coconut oil and it completes the overall aroma of the lotion.
I will tell you straight out that this natural lotion is possibly unlike anything you’ve ever tried! It is a great overall skin moisturizer (particularly effective for our dry, arid mountain climate in AB) and users suffering from a variety of skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis and severe dry skin have reported rapid improvement (instant relief and visible healing overnight). With that said, I’ll let you be the judge. Here is a quick rundown of the product specs:
To reiterate, the unique scent of Rub it in Why don’t Ya! is due to the cold-pressed, unrefined oils used but the lotion has been described as having a hint of coconut smell. In any event, the ambient scent dissipates shortly after application.
A little Rub it in Why Donèt Ya! goes a loooong way so we suggest applying only a dime sized amount to each leg and arm, maybe two dimes worth to your torso…you get the gist. Just don’t overdo it as you will come out of it feeling “greasy.” If this happens, use less next time – bonus the lotion will last way longer for you!
Some say it goes on a bit “shiny” but give it a couple of minutes to work its magic. Soon any glossiness will disappear leaving your skin feeling healthy and well moisturized.
For best effects, do not store in extremes of temperature. The lotion maintains its best consistency at room temperature or lower.
Finally, since we use local, unrefined ingredients, the scent and consistency of the lotion may vary a bit from batch to batch based on the beeswax variety, growing and harvest conditions of the oil seeds, etc. This is to be expected but rest assured that the effects of Rub it in Why Don’t Ya! will not vary.
When you receive your bottle, let it get to room temperature and then engage the pump. Rub it in Why Don’t Ya! gets very thick at low temperatures and you may think that the pump is broken… Give it some warmth and then give the pump a shot.

Lowen’s is named after our 1st daughter, Lowen Emma Marie Zelensky, who, along with her sister Simone, continues to be the inspiration for us to create and grow our line of amazing and unique skincare offerings.
Our origin story starts with Lowen’s recurrent diaper rash and our inability as parents to find anything that would remedy this problem. We tried pretty much everything out there - prescription, non-prescription, herbal or otherwise and seemed to keep coming up short in Lowenterms of getting her rash under control.
Often, frustration leads to innovation and like any father with the know-how would, I took matters into my own hands and, using my Pharmacy background in formulation, created a preservative free, natural diaper balm, now known as Butter Balm. From this single amazingly effective balm, came other balms, lotions, cleansers and creams... and this is how the Lowen’s Natural Skincare family was born!
We are different, scrappy and undoubtedly unique.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us.
We're very confident our products will enhance your life!

About our products
We formulate our products on a number of principles that we we're sure you'll appreciate:
Principle # 1 – Safe for us = Safe for you:
All of our products have been formulated using ingredients that we have evaluated as being safe for use on our family. We have investigated extensively, evaluated the research and separated the evidence from the commonly accepted “truth.” We have tested all of our products on ourselves prior to bringing them to market and rest assured that we would not offer anything that is even remotely harmful. Do your due diligence and check for yourself. All of our products are listed and safety evaluated on the Environmental Working Group’s “Skin Deep Cosmetic Database.” Lowen's Natural Skincare is also part of the EWG Verified™ program which is our transparent commitment to your safety Look our products up ans see the difference, we dara ya!
Principle # 2 – Do no Harm:
We do not test our products on animals. Our ingredients also have not been tested on animals (and yes we do check into this). But words are cheap so we have gone a it further and have attained the certification necessary to have Lowen's listed in PETA's cruelty free database.
At Lowen's, we only test on willing humans - which generally happens to be our friends, family and fans! We don't want to harm these people either though so all of our ingredients are evaluated through EWG, who have scores of data on the safety, effectiveness and animal welfare concerns related to a particular ingredient. We encourage you to read your labels and dig into
Principle # 3 – Keeping it Simple:
We believe that having a shopping list of ingredients with ames you can't pronounce in any product is not a good thing. At Lowen's our ingredients are selected for their multifaceted qualities, which allows us to keep their number low. Furthermore we do not add any artificial scents, colorants or flavors! Lastly, we believe that preservatives, where they can be avoided, always should be. When preservation is necessary the one we have selected must be safe (see Principle #1) and only be included in the lowest effective concentration.
Principle # 4 – Sensible Sourcing:
Using only 100% organic, 100% fair trade, 100% locally sourced ingredients, while minimizing our carbon footprint is what we strive for. The Triple Bottom Line is always in mind! But there is ALWAYS room for improvement. Have suggestions for us - hit us up! We don't know what we don't know. So if you have some great innovation to share, hit us up and email us at email@example.com
