Our parent stock comes from collected seed from southern Ontario. A Canadian native succulent similar to the wild cacti found in pockets throughout Alberta. These are among the hardiest of cacti and in the right conditions in well drained soil, they may overwinter. They also make wonderful low maintenance indoor plants that provide edible fruit. The pads can also be grilled and cactus jelly can be made from them.
We have oversize plugs available for as little as $5.00 up to mature specimens in decorative pots. Pricing varies depending on size and pot.

Medieval Manor Gardens supports regenerative landscaping through organizations like the Canadian Wildlife Federation, Alberta Native Plant Council and Nature Alberta. We also promote and support local nature areas.
Choosing native plants can help increase biodiversity, improve soil condition, reduce water usage, increase carbon sequestration and reduce the need for chemical pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Go back to your roots to grow your future, one plant at a time.
